RIP Joanna Russ

Best known for The Female Man. She was one of those authors I read back when I read any and every SF book I could find, and I probably didn't understand much of the subtext (for one, it didn't occur to me to think of her as a 'feminist author'), but I liked her books and stories. The ever-shrinking world of 'serious' SF authors is the further diminished by her passing.
