Google + Contraction

Apparently down 60%.

Google+ was originally invite only, generating significant interest as all and sundry attempted to join what many believed would be the next social networking craze. This frenzy continued when Google opened the doors to its social network to everyone on 20 September. This resulted in a massive influx of new members, with traffic growing by a whopping 1,200 per cent.
However, despite the clear interest in an alternative to Facebook, it does not appear that the people joining are staying around and actively using the web site.

And why would you?
The value of Facebook isn't the platform, it's the population. The platform stinks, and the sweeter the love Zuckerberg makes to data miners and corporate marketeers the worse the stench gets.

But Google is no less rapacious in their marauding of user data. Positioning themselves as White Knight riding to the rescue of the downtrodden FB masses would cause an epidemic of hysterical laughter.

Right now FB is like the Democrats.
Sure they suck, but they're the only game in town.
