True Fuss Tales: Toddler Pot Luck

Every few weeks "the mommies" (and the rest of us) get together for dinner, pooling our culinary resources. In an ideal world this means the kids rampage around keeping each other entertained while the parents bask in the company of other childrearing veterans. It's half dinner party, half support group. And it works well, other than predictable toddler interruptions like falling down, screaming about toys, running each other over or breaking into the shed with the 'grown up tools'.

The weather last night was ridiculous, 70's with a sea breeze and just enough scattered clouds to be picturesque. We hung out on Sofia's folks amazing patio while the kids swung, dug and chased the chickens around.

Fuss, Calan and Sofia found a bucket of kindling by the fire pit and started wedging it into the slats of a bench- Todd proclaimed it their Burning Man installation.

I wandered over to check it out.
Fuss gestured proudly at the structure, declaring

"Dada, look- I fixed the bench, with my friends!"

I swear he's grown an inch in the last few weeks....we should probably start keeping track of it on a door jam.
