Funny, because it's true- even as I type they're all scouring America for the 'next' Casey Anthony they can use to stir up an angry (advertiser friendly) mob.
Meanwhile important news with a real, direct impact on the fortunes of the nation is relegated to the agate type sidebar.

I honestly do not know or care who Casey Anthony is or what he is accused of, nor do I have an opinion as to whether or not justice was done. This screamed out to me from headline #1 as a good reminder of Thoreau's dictum: "Read not the Times; Read the Eternities."
It was interesting to me as a measure of how far out of the 'mainstream' I am, not watching anything but dvds and Netflix streaming and getting my news, such as it is, from political bloggers.
Twitter is apparently my lone remaining window into the psyche of JOE SIXPACK.
