stoners vs the death penalty

Via Daily Kos, the most succinct argument I've run across for the abolition of the death penalty: 

It's one of those issues most people decide on the "sounds good to me" principle, which seems to rule most of American political discourse.

Kill murderers?  

SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!

Because God forbid logic and reason interrupt the cozy enjoyment provided by knee jerk reactions to complex problems.

I've always been against it- even as a child it was obvious to me that human beings are fallible and shouldn't be making irreversible decisions like "Uh....you die now!"
