It's enough to make you miss William Safire.
He was a being of pure evil, but unlike milquetoast Brooks proudly wore his black heart on his sleeve. Brooks craves the same society-destroying results as Ol Bill but isn't man enough to own his beliefs, continuing to insist he's a human being despite a body of work that proves otherwise.
