I need to get a book as a gift for my dad...I have fifty bucks, I owe him for his birthday, Christmas, Easter, everything! I guess I could just give him the money and send him down, but he's 80 years old, his mind skips a beat every five minutes and he's mean as a snake! I'd like something from a film critic, she's dead now, Pauline Kael, it's spelled KAY AY EEE ELL? She wrote for the New Yorker.
When Phoenix Pooks still existed they had this book buy that guy who used to be on teevee...he looked like a chipmunk, it had movies that were on teevee? I'd like to keep it under $25, my check didn't come this week and I have bills to pay. I think most of the people under the guardianship didn't get their checks this week...
Do you have any biographies? Jimmy Stewart is his favorite actor. I found two biographies on James Cagney, but one of them plagiarized from the other and now I only have one.
I wasn't able to find him any Pauline Kael or Roger Ebert, but he promised to come down and look for himself once his check arrived.

He knows a lot about comic books published before 1978. My guess is that this is about the time his mind started to slip.
He went to high school with the boss, apparently he was nutty but under control back then. He does have an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture within a very specific date range.
Ran into him on the street just now while getting lunch- "Oh my! You're outside your nest!" he exclaimed jubilantly.
