True Customer Tales: Full Circle

two gals wander in.

One looks around confused and says "didn't this used to be Full Circle?"

"Nope" I reply.

"Well, where is Full Circle?"

"They went out of business a while ago."

"Well, how long has THIS place been here?" Affronted, like its our fault Full Circle died.

"The store's been around for, oh, thirty years or so."

"Three years?" Sort of sneering.

"No, thirty. Thirty years."

"Oh."

I do miss Full Circle- when Marcie ran the place it was an automatic one-stop gift emporium, packed with delights informed by her impeccable taste and sense of style (and I don't say this only because she stocked the Wife's hats during the Christmas season).

When the new owners first window display was garlanded with Tibetan prayer flags I smelled disaster on the wind. Overnight the ambiance shifted fatally from San Fransisco Contemporary Eclectic to Early 90's Santa Cruz Hippy.

A few months later it was gone.
