My Second Favorite Prince Cover, Recovered

I heard this decades ago, copied it from a friend onto a cassette tape (that's how we had to roll back in the stone age), the tape was subsequently eaten and the friend had moved far, far away. After Al Gore invented the internet (but before he got fat) I would periodically check for it, always to no avail.

Until today!

One of my FB friends linked the original and inspired me to take another look.
Eternal thanks to Youtubeian ThoughtTraveller, and more proof that eventually anything and everything will end up online...even obscure compilations of unknown folk rockers!

(Second favorite because nothing compares to Sinead.)

A similar thing happened to me recently. I had been trying and trying to locate this specific Prince cover, and it didn't exist anywhere on the internet. The CD was long out of print and fetching $40-ish on Ebay. My own copy was missing, and I wanted to play it on the radio for my Minneapolis-derived sidekick. Finally, after considering buying it from a sketchy Russian mp3 site, I found my old disc lying sleeveless in a stack of "backup" discs from the late 90s. Two weeks later somebody posted it on Youtube.

(And I'll say again I think this is a great cover of a song I would have thought un-coverable.)
