Better panic!
NPR's former CEO, Vivian Schiller, explained her forced resignation during a recent sit-down interview at the Paley Center For Media on Tuesday. She said the Board was under intense pressure to save its public funding and moved immediately to try to contain the O'Keefe story.Wow, that immediate cave in really got the wingers off their back over funding, didn't it?
This is why I didn't get that upset over the 'defund NPR' hysteria.
What's the point defending an organization that won't raise a hand on its own behalf?
I'm wondering if certain sectors of the non-crazy mediascape will ever figure out that handing the bully your lunch money the moment they make a threatening gesture is an invitation to future abuse.
