Heavy Rotation: TV on the Radio

One of my original hey, I can find new music myself on TEH INTERNETS! bands, and definitely the most adventurous and satisfying of the bunch. They manage to navigate musical evolution without throwing me off the boat, which given my predisposition to stasis is a neat trick. Their latest is Nine Types of Light, which critical consensus has decided is their 'mellow' record. Not sure I buy that, although it's less sweeping in conception than Dear Science...which is no crime. Tolstoy didn't turn out War and Peace every time he set pen to paper.

It has a tune that's one of the best things they've ever done- Killer Cranes is equal to Young Liars and Family Tree, and a bunch of others I fully expect to creep through my consciousness like ivy in a churchyard.

Here's a long set from Letterman last night.

I love these cats, and so should you.
