Quick Bite: Enzo's Italian Eatery

Wandering around after shoe shopping with a restive Fuss, we ended up grabbing a few slices at Enzo's SLO location.  Ambiance is generic 'college hangout' and they pack more teevees into a small dining room than I'd have thought possible, or at least prudent, but the slices were really good and the tables out on their sidewalk patio provided good people watching.  The gals raved about the one with the pasta on top, but my favorite was actually the plain cheese, which speaks well for the bones of their operation.  The crust was flavorful, the sauce was tasty without being overbearing and the cheese  delivered the  necessary melty deliciousness.

And I'd expect a freshly baked pizza to deliver more of all those qualities.

Based on this small sample I'd rate them the best downtown slice, leaving Woodstocks stuck at the starting line and edging out Guiseppi's in a close but clear finish.  I'll hit them for lunch a few more times then post a follow up.

Some web advice for Enzo's, flash sites suck because the prevent interesting parties from linking to relevant information, and PDF menus suck because ditto.  Let customers look at your menu without having to download anything or load yet another program, it's just good manners.
