retro video: Joy Division

One of those bands I enjoy live, or not at all.

They are commonly thought to have been much more 'rocking' and 'powerful' live than they ended up being on record. The records have the fingerprints of the producer, Martin Hannett, all over them.

I like the records a lot, but the production makes them seem somewhat "of their time".

I never 'got' the records, and prior to the Youtubing of the musical universe would have said I didn't like Joy Division (although I am a big New Order fan).
