My tolerance for people's distorted notions about online pricing has nearly evaporated.
Consider this exchange with a gal looking for a mystery novel.
gal: Well, it's only a dollar six on Amazon.
me, smiling: Don't forget the four bucks for shipping.
gal: Uh...uh...uh. *stares at me blankly*
Do people honestly not consider this stuff?
Standard Amazon shipping for a book is $3.99.
So that Stephen King book that 'costs' a penny will set you back four bucks.
Amazon Prime is a good deal, but only applies to new stuff.
I keep waiting for the general buying public to pick up on the subtleties of shopping online, so far in vain.
